Young Harry Aceto.jpg

On upright and electric bass, banjo, guitar, and mandolin, Harry Aceto is one of the busiest musicians on the scene, constantly in demand for his solid groove, tasty accompaniment, and inventive solos in a wide variety of styles, including Folk, Country, Rock, R&B, Jazz, Latin, Swing, and Contradance music.

Since 1997, he has been bassist with Jay Ungar & Molly Mason's band Swingology, and on the staff of their music & dance camp at Ashokan, in New York's Catskill Mountain region. Harry's playing can be heard on Jay & Molly's CDs, "Harvest Home" & "Relax Your Mind", on Angel Records (with David Bromberg). His 50 years of experience have ranged from street-corner busking, to playing square dances in a one-room schoolhouse in Paradise, Nova Scotia, to tuxedo big band gigs in NYC's Rainbow Room and Waldorf-Astoria (and everything in between!). His current focus is exploring the music of Gypsy jazz guitar genius, Django Reinhardt.
